Country Reports

A step by step guide to awesome reports

Writing about countries can be a difficult process for young learners. I needed to make this report writing easy, so all our students could learn and get the idea of how to write a country report. I created these documents so students could first gather the information necessary and then write the information down into paragraphs. Some concepts are tough for students, but each day the students complete a page.

Each day the students are writing, and I am modeling how the report should be written, every day I am teaching key concepts, such as, ethnic groups, imports, exports, natural resources etc..

Modeling everything will be super important. First how to find information and gather it, writing it down and then writing it into paragraphs.

Finding age appropriate books on different countries is also important, too hard of a book and the information is too hard to find and read.

When the students are done with the whole report, I usually type the reports up as it took the students a long time to write all the information the first time. However, you could easily have your students write or type the information themselves again. Then I bind their reports, first the typed report goes in and then the rough draft is put in after that, so parents can see the whole learning process.
