    Description

This coping skills list for kids is exactly what every school counselor (and teacher) needs! This coping skills list is more than just a list! It's a list, a Google slide lesson, a digital activity (or paper if you prefer), a one-page handout, and above-the-board alphabet decor with the coping skills! This coping skills list is perfect for grades K - 5th grade.

It’s not necessary to have an anxiety coping skills list, a depression coping skills list, a PTSD coping skills list, an anger management coping skills list, and a mental health coping skills list. This list will serve all those purposes. This list will expose kids to what coping strategies are and ones they can try. Out of the twenty-six strategies, kids should be able to find a few that help them find calm.

And here’s the best part. This coping skills list for kids will be accessed and used quickly because it’s attached to something your students already know...the ALPHABET!

I am confident students will have this list memorized quickly! When an individual is having a panic attack, struggling with generalized anxiety, or battling depression they need to remember the coping skills easily. They need to be remembered as easily as their name.

If you are looking for a coping skills list for kids, this is the one you want. It has twenty-six skills that will help students find calm. And these skills will be easily accessed because they will be filed in their brain by the alphabet:)

This list is created on 8.5" x 11" paper so that each coping skill is on a sheet...just like a typical alphabet that would be hung up across the board. Also, a one-page version with all the coping skills is included for reference sheets or if you are short on space. A foldable book and ABC graphic organizer is included to make this an easy lesson. The foldable book is perfect for younger students (grades K-2) and the graphic organizer for older students (grades 3-5).

If you need a lesson for an observation, you can use the graphic organizer as a pre and post-test to create data and measure learning.

Here’s the list of coping skills. This Bundle has some additional resources included for several of the coping skills as noted below. The other lessons are in the works. The items included are noted below.
