Description
Kiddos might need additional teaching regarding which behaviors are considered "expected" vs. "unexpected" (also known as "social norms") given different situations and environments. Sometimes this language can be difficult for little learners to understand given that those terms are not widely used amongst their peers. More frequently, the terms "cool" vs. "not cool" are being utilized to help learners grasp the concept.
The goal of teaching "cool" vs. "not cool" behavior is to assist our students in observing social situations more carefully. This then allows them to better understand that the behaviors they exhibit can be linked to others' emotions and feelings, which can in turn impact how we treat each other.
This interactive PDF includes 16 different scenarios. Two options are provided for response given the scenario: "cool" vs. "not cool". These cards additionally provide a prompt for the learner when they have made an incorrect response. Following the prompt, they are given the opportunity to continue trying until they arrive at the correct answer.
