    Description

Converting Fractions, Decimals and Percents is a skill that starts early on when students begin to learn fractions and decimals. Students must understand that there are equivalent forms of each and that they will see these rational numbers in each format throughout their lives as students and then into the real world.

The Converting Rational Numbers Flippable has been my Top Seller since 2012 and consistently receives glowing feedback including:

    • "Love this organizer--really helped some of my students understand how to do the different conversions. Thanks!" and

    • "Easy to use, simple explanations, good resource for students to have in their interactive notebook. This was just what was needed to help them convert fractions, decimals, and percents on their own."

As the years have gone on, and my store has grown I have continued to add more supplementary products to my store for student use. This now includes:

    • Two Solve and Snips
    • Three sets of Task Cards (Printable and Google Forms)
    • Three Activities (Go Fish, Connect Four and Candy Corn Conversions)
    • and the Converting Rational Numbers Guided Cornell Notes, Exit Ticket, and Practice

Now that these items are included in a bundle together it will allow you to easily adjust and differentiate in your classroom to fit the needs of each of your learners.

Each Item in the Converting Fractions, Decimals and Percents Bundle includes:

    • Teacher Directions
    • Photos of items in Use (if needed)
    • Student Activities in multiple formats (Flippable Lesson has multiple formats to allow for choice and Task Cards are in Color and Black and White formats)

    How Can I Use This?

Through the use of each of the activities, you can easily set up a station during Math Workshop that swaps out the concept each week and not have to reteach the directions throughout the year allowing you to WORK SMARTER, NOT HARDER!

The activities and games are also great for review, early finisher activities, enrichment, a worksheet alternative, partner activity, or as a take-home activity to encourage families to work together.

    What is This Aligned to?

All activities are aligned to Common Core (CCSS), Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and Oklahoma Academic Standards (OAS) and meant to be able to be used in any classroom.

    • CCSS: 4.NF.1, 4.NF.6, 7.NS.2d
    • TEKS: 4.2g, 4.3c, 4.3g, 5.2a, 6.2a, 6.4g
    • OAS: 4.N.2.1, 4.N.2.5, 5.N.1.2, 5.N.1.3, 5.N.2.1, 5.N.2.4, and 7.N.1.1

Explain why a fraction 𝘢/𝘣 is equivalent to a fraction (𝘯 × 𝘢)/(𝘯 × 𝘣) by using visual fraction models, with attention to how the number and size of the parts differ even though the two fractions themselves are the same size. Use this principle to recognize and generate equivalent fractions.
Convert a rational number to a decimal using long division; know that the decimal form of a rational number terminates in 0s or eventually repeats.
Solve multi-step real-life and mathematical problems posed with positive and negative rational numbers in any form (whole numbers, fractions, and decimals), using tools strategically. Apply properties of operations to calculate with numbers in any form; convert between forms as appropriate; and assess the reasonableness of answers using mental computation and estimation strategies. For example: If a woman making $25 an hour gets a 10% raise, she will make an additional 1/10 of her salary an hour, or $2.50, for a new salary of $27.50. If you want to place a towel bar 9 3/4 inches long in the center of a door that is 27 1/2 inches wide, you will need to place the bar about 9 inches from each edge; this estimate can be used as a check on the exact computation.
Use decimal notation for fractions with denominators 10 or 100. For example, rewrite 0.62 as 62/100; describe a length as 0.62 meters; locate 0.62 on a number line diagram.
