Finding “What doesn’t belong” and “Convergent naming”. Includes answer key!
# Characteristics of Aphasia and Cognitive Communication Disorder
A language disorder caused by brain injury after language acquisition. Aphasia involves varying degrees of impairment in four primary areas: spoken language expression, spoken language comprehension, written expression, reading comprehension. Therefore, the focus should be on activating language processing through stimulation rather than re-teaching the language.
# How to use

  1. Read out the 4 words to the patient.
  2. Ask the patient to identify “What doesn’t belong” from the group.
  3. If they answer it correctly, discuss with them why they chose those
    word. Then move on to convergent naming.
  4. If the patient answers incorrectly, please read it out again.
  5. If they answer it incorrectly again, give them a hint by telling them
    what the category is.
