What educators are saying

Loved using these to review our spelling practices of the week! I don't know who had more fun with this activity...me or the students!!
We absolutely LOVED this resource. Made contractions so concrete for those who were having a tough time. And talk about engagement! Thank you!

Description

Contraction surgery is a fun way for students to practice making contractions. This file contains directions for how to perform contraction surgery, 40 bones with words, a sheet of apostrophe bandages, and a sheet of doctor badges. To complete the activity, students will "perform surgery" (cut out letters) on bones with words. Each bone has two words. Some letters need to be cut out in order to make the words into a contraction. Students put the bones pieces back together with an apostrophe bandage in order to make the contraction. Bones include not, will, have, am, are, is, has, would, and had to make contractions with. Click here to see my students in action!Click here to see another resource to practice contractions!
