Description
This hands-on activity is perfect for students to get extra practice hearing the sounds in words and manipulating letters to build words. Your boys will especially love the construction theme. This activity works well for whole group, small group, RTI, or intervention groups.
In this unit, you will find:
2 colored mats (for 3-letter and 4-letter words)
2 black and white mats with places for recording (for 3-letter and 4-letter words)
Recording sheet if you choose to use the colored mats
10 sets of building words directions with accompanying letter tiles for
Short a, i, e, o, and u
Short vowel words ending in -ck
4 Mixed short vowel reviews
