Conference Booklet

I use this with children in my class during our one on one conference time. This tool helps me keep track of the social, emotional, and academic work of each child in my environment. I share this with the child's parents at conferences. Using this system, I've been able to complete 15-20 conferences a year (on average) if I do three conferences a day with a class of about 27-32 children.

This Conference Booklet includes:

* Goal Tracking System (and Cover)-The child can record "yes" or "no," using a bar graph, located on the front cover of this booklet. This helps to visualize if they've achieved their goals and promotes a level of reflection for the child about their own efforts in school and in their personal life.

* Inside there are Two Pages to be used for each conference:

• Page One: Social/Emotional Growth
  • Personal Goal
  • How they feel physically
  • How they feel emotionally at home
  • How they feel emotionally at school with friends
  • Comments
• Page Two: Academic Growth
  • Golden Goal (The child writes this using a gold pencil in their work record. This goal is an academic goal they'd like to work on more in the following two weeks after their conference).
  • How they feel about school work
  • What work are they most proud of
  • What presentation do they want to have
  • Comments
