What educators are saying

This was a great little in context practice for my AP students it challenged them to push through the grammar rules to the meaning behind the memes
This was a fun and engaging activity that helped us forget about how tricky these grammar concepts are.

Description

Students analyze authentic comics and internet memes containing the conditional and imperfect subjunctive forms. They have to find the conditional and imperfect subjunctive verb forms in the comic/meme. Students also practice guessing in context and interpreting the comics and why they're funny. I include follow-up questions that relate to the meme/comic to help generate classroom conversation and participation. This is a great attention, co-construction, or extension activity to use when teaching the conditional, imperfect subjunctive, or “las cláusulas de si”!
