    Description

"This bundle was a life saver. Buy it, you will be glad you did!"

    Welcome to this awesome bundle!

Have you been tasked with teaching elementary technology class? Perhaps you are not sure what to teach? Or perhaps you want to add to your technology resource repertoire.

This bundle has a little of everything for you. From activities to use with younger students, to activities that can extend those at the top end of your school.

These lessons are packed with activities which will encourage your students creative and critical thinking skills.

I've labelled this as third thru sixth grade, but you might find that you can use some of these activities with either younger or older students.

So, what do we have here?

    • Presentations – Create a presentation about yourself – choose between the Google Sheets or Microsoft PowerPoint version
    • Spreadsheets – Creating a spreadsheet of live weather data – Choose between the Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel version
    • Databases – An introduction – What is a database and why are they used? Searching large databases.
    • Finding Information – students explore a website and search it to find relevant information

    • Typing – An introduction to typing with suggestions for many different resources and courses to follow
    • Technology Development – In these 3 lessons, students look at Websites Thru the years, they create a Technology Timeline and investigate Computers of the Future
    • Exploring Simulations with SIM CITY – Students investigate what it is like to simulate a city and consider why activities are modelled on a computer.
    • Repeating Patterns – How and why are patterns repeated in the world around us – exploring tessellation, symmetry and reflection using a computer
    • Coding – Introduction using Scratch Drag and Drop Coding – Students learn programming skills with an interface designed specifically for them.
    • Intermediate Coding – Building on their Scratch skills – Students take on some more in-depth Scratch coding challenges, including creating a calculator and a simple AI bot.
    • Clay Animation - Students plan and create a clay stop motion animation - including a story board, creating models, taking photos, editing the footage, combining sound and presenting to the class.

All units come with written EDITABLE planning, presentations, activities and more!

These units were originally designed for students using computers / laptops. Many will work with the web-based versions of programs in a browser using an iPad, tablet or other device. Some resources will need to be adapted for this medium.

You don’t need to teach all of these lessons, but this will give you a great bank of resources to work from. You could use some of these units with slightly older middle-school students too, particularly the Scratch Coding units and the clay animation unit.

I hope you find this helpful!
