What will happen next?- Read or have students read the beginning of each story.

When they come to the end of the text, students will make a prediction based on the text about what will happen next.

Students will use a dry erase marker to circle the details that support the main idea.

Students will use a dry erase marker to circle the main idea.

    ♥Spinner the spider

Make a connection- Read or have students read the question on each card.

Students will use the picture to make a connection. Encourage students to tell more, if needed.

What kind of connection?- Read or have students read the story. Students will choose which kind of connection they can make (text-to-self, text-to-text, text-to-world)

    ♥Picturing Penguin

    ♥Questioning Owl

Ask Questions- Read or have students read the book title, beginning of story, to the middle of the story, or entire story (all 4 are included). Students will ask a question. ♥ Eight posters with the strategies

♥ Three different options for documentation of the cards you have used and data collection.

    ♥ An exit ticket

*The cards are 3.3 inches tall by 5.9 inches wide and are three to a page.

    Set Up:

♥Print, laminate, and cut out the cards. There are labels included so you can organize them by skill. I like to organize mine in the Recollections™ Color Photo & Craft Keeper from Michaels. If you don't have this, you can also hole punch the cards and put them on loose leaf rings.

♥I would recommend printing the cards one set at a time. For example, print all of the inferring iguana cards together. That makes it easier to manage and keep organized.

♥You will need dry erase markers for some cards.

♥ I've also included 3 different options for documentation of the cards you have used and data collection.

**I'll be honest, this is a big resource! It took me a decent amount of time to print, laminate, cut out, and organize the cards. Once it's done, you will be so happy because you can use it throughout the school year! I just want you to know that there is some prep involved before you purchase! ;) *Please* ask any and all questions before purchasing. Product is available as is. Sorry no custom edits at this time.
