Description

Students will compare and contrast accounts in informational texts on the same topic or event.  This includes describing similarities and differences in information provided, focus, and authors’ points of view between texts.  Passages are written in firsthand or secondhand accounts.

These ELA reading comprehension worksheets have a mini-lesson at the top to serve as an anchor, followed by two (or three) nonfiction passages and several multiple choice and open response questions.  Tips are included next to some commonly asked questions to mentor students on how to best answer them.  Use as test prep, or to teach and practice the fundamentals of comparing and contrasting different author accounts on the same topic.
