Description
Teach 1st grade Common Core math standards--including concepts and strategies--through 38 songs. This set also comes with a 55-page book including all lyrics along with alignments to ALL 1st grade math standards. Characters like the "Pizza-Eating Alligator" and "Miss Mary Mack" will make advanced concepts fun for your children. Songs run for approximately 30 seconds to 2 minutes, and are designed to maximize efficiency in your classroom.

The first sample, "Switcheroo," teaches the Commutative Property of Addition. Ask children to hold up fingers to match the lyrics. Switch hands around as the addends switch.
When I ask my students to define the Commutative Property of Addition, they simply say, "It's the Switcheroo." Then, they easily explain how it works.
The second sample is "Add It On." Teach children to follow the directions in the song as it plays. This song will help them to understand, use, and explain a higher-level addition strategy.
The third sample is "Telling Time." Students love to move model clocks as this song plays. Spend a couple of minutes discussing how time works after listening and acting out the song.
