What educators are saying

Awesome beginning of year activity to promote collaboration. As an RFF teacher who sees K-6, I actually use it with year 3-6 and was very fun for students.
My students loved these snowball writing activities. They were totally engaged the whole time, and they couldn't wait for the next time we would use them. Thanks so much for creating these!

    Description

Collaborative Writing Activities and Assignments Bundle - Snowball Writing: Immerse your students in the world of collaborative writing with this dynamic bundle featuring five engaging activities centered around the snowball writing method. Through these interactive lessons, your students will embark on a journey of creativity and cooperation that they will never forget. The essence of the method lies in its simplicity: students initiate the writing process, crumple their work into a "snowball," and toss it forward for another collaborator to collect and build upon. This exhilarating cycle continues until the snowball returns to its original creator for final editing and revision. With these activities, your students will not only refine their writing skills but also cultivate teamwork and communication in an unforgettable classroom experience.

Included in This Collaborative Writing Activities Bundle:

➡️ Essay Snowball Writing: Use this activity to help your students understand essay structure and develop a rough draft for a 5 paragraph persuasive essay. Included in the packet are a teacher guide and 35 different double-sided worksheets with a variety of essay topics (all topics will be different).

➡️ Descriptive Snowball Writing: Shake up your class with this unique and fun collaborative writing activity to help them improve their descriptive writing. Included are 30 pre-made worksheets with a different food to describe (images of the food included on each page). Each of the collaborative writers describe a different sense as it relates to the food.

➡️ Narrative Snowball Writing: Engage your students in narrative writing with these 30 pre-made worksheets with a different visual story starter. Each assignment has a different image that is sure to spark a creative story for your students. Instructions for what to include in each section of writing are included.

➡️ Poetry Snowball Writing: Make poetry writing less intimidating with this collaborative approach. Students will write an acrostic poem (connected sentences, not just words) with 4 other students! Included are 30 different poetry topics in acrostic format.

➡️ Back to School Icebreaker Snowball Writing: Get to know your students better at the start of the year (or at any point in the year) with this get to know you icebreaker activity. Following the snowball method, students write about themselves based on prompting questions. When they are done, other students will introduce them to the rest of the class by sharing information they learned about that specific student (see individual resource for more specific instructions).

What Teachers Are Saying About This Collaborative Writing Activities Bundle:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My students loved these snowball writing activities. They were totally engaged the whole time, and they couldn't wait for the next time we would use them. Thanks so much for creating these!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I love this resource so much because it is an easy way to get students moving around the classroom and engaged. I used the icebreaker the first week of school. At first, students thought it was strange that I was actually telling them to throw paper across the room but then they got into it. They found these activities very creative and fun.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The kids enjoyed it and it also strengthened the community as they helped each other figure out the writing of their classmates.
