Collaborative Turkey (Thanksgiving) Project

This is a whole class, whole division or whole school collaborative project! Students work together to cover a "naked turkey" (a turkey without feathers) with a feather that they have decorated, either at school or with their families at home. This creates a unique bulletin board or classroom display! It can be used as a school spirit building activity, a team-building activity, a collaborative project, an art activity and/ or a writing prompt activity.

It can be completed by…
* Having each student in the class decorate a feather at school
* Having each student in the division (ex. All kindergarten classes) decorate a feather at school
* Having every student in the school decorate a feather (to create a BIG turkey!)
* Sending the included letter home to the students in your class, in your division or in the whole school for an at-home family project

2 different at-school student sheets with a feather outline and a short description of the activity
A family letter explaining the collaborative project
Two different feather outline pages to accompany the family letter
A “naked turkey” in colour to print and display, or to photocopy onto overhead acetate and projected onto paper to design a JUMBO turkey for hallway display
