Description

This is a Scoot activity designed to help children practice and master coin recognition. There are 26 Scoot cards. Each card has a photo of one coin. The coins shown are the fronts and backs of pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters, including state quarters, Lincoln pennies, and the Westward Journey nickels. None of the coins are repeated. There are two recording sheets included: one that has students write just the name of the coin, and one that requires the name and the value of the coin.

THE COINS ARE NOT TO SCALE. They have been enlarged for students to see the details.

The following coins are depicted:

One penny obverse (front) coin: the traditional Lincoln penny

Six penny reverse (back) coins: Lincoln Memorial, Birthplace Kentucky, Formative Years in Indiana, Professional Life in Illinois, Presidency in Washington, DC, and the Union Shield

Two nickel obverse coins: the traditional Jefferson nickel, and President Jefferson with Handwritten Liberty

Five nickel reverse coins: Monticello, American Bison, Ocean in View, Louisiana Purchase/Peace Medal, and Keelboat

One dime obverse coin: the traditional Roosevelt dime

One dime reverse coin: the traditional olive branch, torch, oak leaf design

One quarter obverse coin: the traditional Washington quarter

Nine quarter reverse coins: the traditional eagle, Colorado, Washington, Alaska, Maine, Hawaii, South Carolina, Indiana, and Idaho

If you would like one of them to be your state, email me after your purchase and I can customize it for you.
