From the opening scenes beautifully animated on papel picado, Coco is chock full of important cultural items and symbols that emphasize the Mexican heritage of its characters. This visual checklist -- with vocabulary in English and Spanish -- helps students notice 7 important cultural artifacts represented with such care in the film.
