Description
PICTURE CUE CARDS TO SUPPORT FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS
This is one of our favorite classroom management tools to use because it's so simple, but provides visual support to students as they're working through a task.
When our work includes multiple steps, these cards are especially helpful for ELLs and children who are working on language goals. It's a great way to improve workflow and build habits of independence while eliminating the question, "What do I do next?"
Each card includes a clear image with one matching word, such as read, write, cut, and glue. It's a great tool for the back to school season as you're setting up new classroom routines and procedures, but it can also grow with you across the year as tasks become more complex with work like investigating, collaborating, and explaining.
Number cards for up to 10 steps are included.
Sometimes, you may not need to outline all the steps, but just want to create a visual list of the supplies children will need to complete a task. For that reason, I've included 30 supply cards that not only support ELA, but math and science as well. Examples: paper, highlighter, dice, and scale.
THE SET INCLUDES:
- 25 Visual Cue Cards
- Number Cards for Steps 1-10
- One Set of Cards with Simpler Images
- 30 Supply Picture Cards
- Headers for the Chart
A pocket chart is one of the easiest ways to display and change out the cue cards, but magnets on a white board work just as well. You can also cut and glue the cards to chart paper to make posters you can use over and over.
