This unit is titled "Civil Rights Bundle - 9 Products"

It includes 9 products. This unit begins by asking students to design a museum exhibition in 8 objects to explain Jim Crow America. After this several case studies are used to explain the Civil Rights movement. The first of these is Ruby Bridges and students take part in an emotional rollercoaster lesson. Following this there is a History Mystery to help students understand what happened to Emmett Till. There is then a source-based lesson on the impact of Sit-Ins before a comparison lesson on the Montgomery bus boycott and the Freedom Riders. The unit also includes a lesson on significance where students examine the role of Martin Luther King Jr as well as a lesson on the role of women in the movement. The final section of this unit invites students to take part in an interpretation lesson on Malcolm X and a follow up lesson on how the Black Panthers were perceived.
