This is a 3 question primary source analysis of The Civil Rights Act of 1964. This resource is vital to helping students understand how the fight for equal rights led to the passage of this law, how the requirements of the law impacted US citizens then and how it impacts us today.

How Do I Use This?

This resource is developed for either in-classroom use, where students can work independently or in pairs,  or as a homework assignment, where students can fill in their questions at their own pace.

As this is a short assignment, this is a great Opening Activity/Do Now before discussing civil rights, voting rights, or citizen rights and responsibilities and is useful in both a US History and Civics classroom
