What educators are saying

It's hard to find Christmas resources that are appropriate for more mature/advanced students, but this one worked very well. It was fun discussing the stories behind the traditions.
I used a couple of these sheets around the holidays. They worked well! I saved the pack in my collection.

Description

This is an assortment of Reading Comprehension worksheets for 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th Grade (but it's great for many Elementary and High School Grades too). It contains ten passages of assorted topics of varied lengths and difficulties.

This pack offers ten reading passages, each with multiple choice, open ended response, critical thinking, and fill-in-the-blank questions. It also includes answer keys with example responses.

The topics included are:

  1. The Origin of Christmas Wreaths
  2. The Tradition of Mall Santas: Spreading Holiday Cheer in Festive Settings
  3. The History of Toboggans
  4. Bell Ringers and the Salvation Army: Spreading Hope During the Holidays
  5. The Illuminating Tale of Christmas Lights: A Bright Tradition
  6. Fill-in-the-Blank: The Festive History of Eggnog
  7. The Delicious World of Christmas Treats
  8. The Joyful Tradition of Christmas Caroling
  9. Père Fouettard: The Dark Companion of Saint Nicholas
  10. How Snowflakes Are Formed

These reading passages, which cover a range of topics, can be incredibly beneficial for students and teachers in several ways:

Developing Reading Skills

Improving Language Proficiency

Encouraging Critical Thinking

Building Knowledge Base

Catering to Different Learning Styles

Preparation for Standardized Tests

Fostering Classroom Discussions

You can use these worksheets in any way you see fit:

  • Print them and distribute them in class
  • Use them in small group settings
  • Use them as a whole class discussion
  • Copy and paste the passages and questions for presentations
  • And various other teaching strategies.

You just can't redistribute this work as your own.

By integrating this worksheet creatively, teachers can cater to diverse learning styles, promote critical thinking, encourage research skills, and foster a deeper understanding of the topic among their students.
