Don't let Covid19 steal your Christmas drama fun! A Device Free Christmas is an adorable comedy, I include tips to brighten the holidays! Prepare to laugh! It's so much fun and a great learning experience for all! This script is best suited for grades 2-4, but certainly would work with grade 1 with a little vocabulary help. (It's actually very funny done by first graders using larger vocabulary words.) NOTE: I have made slight updates to the parent letters included. Whether done as strictly a video performance or in-person, this delivers. The script alone is 8 pages- part of a 34 page book that contains Tips for current pandemic situations, Director's Notes, Cast of Characters list with characterization suggestions for casting, Costume Ideas, Parent Letters for both Daytime and Night Performance, Parent Letters for Covid19 restrictions, Tips and Suggestions for a smooth performance, "A Device-Free Christmas" SKIT with cover, writing and scheduling assignment with clocks, two page comprehension check of the script, Answer Key for questions, Student Self-Reflection Assessment of their performance, Stage Setting diagrams of all scenes, and a teacher's worksheet for deciding roles. The play (depending on your choice of music) is about a 15 minute performance. (I always did extra music, so it can run up to 20-25 with commercials (I give suggestions for this in the packet) or riddle time. So much fun! There are parts for 21 to 25 people, I have included suggestions for working with LESS THAN and MORE THAN 21 students. Summary: Santa and some others fall into a bad habit of too much game playing on their devices; Mrs. Claus and two of the elves scheme to fix the problem.
