Cast size: 16 characters

Can increase cast size to 22 characters by adding extra animals in non-speaking roles*

Can reduce cast size to 14 characters by giving 2 students 2 roles to perform - quick costume changes will be required!

Running time: 40 minutes - longer if including Christmas songs and carols

*You can include extra students by using your school choir, or individual classes, to sing Christmas songs or carols at appropriate moments throughout the play

The Xmas Factor is a retelling of the nativity story for Christmas audiences. The play tells the story of the nativity with gentle humour and heart, and a few twists. The search is on to find a special Star to lead the Wise Men to Bethlehem but auditions are not going well. Meanwhile the Shepherds are trying to stay awake and Rooster is struggling to find people to come to his party! But everything turns out beautifully in the end. This is a lovely nativity play for your Christmas production and is a great opportunity to utilise the talents of your singers and school orchestra.

This script includes fabulous full production notes, with ideas for staging, props and furniture, lighting, sound effects, suggestions for any music and costumes. It also contains great follow-on activities covering story, characters, theme, script layout and performance-related tasks for further work in the classroom or drama studio.

The Multiple Performance Rights License included in this bundle permits your class, group, club, company or organisation to give up to 3 performances of The Xmas Factor. These performances can be given to a fee paying, or non-paying, audience and can be performed in real life or online.
