What educators are saying

This was a great resource. My students had fun and kept engaged in the days up to the break. I will definitely use again!
I used this activities as emergency sub plans when I was out in December, and my students loved them. They were fun and engaging, and a good way to still practice math while enjoying the holidays.

    Description

Looking for no prep Christmas activities to challenge your middle school math class this December? This holiday mini bundle is sure to be a hit with your students!

This download includes my Christmas Logic Puzzle for Middle School, my Christmas Sudoku Puzzles, and my Christmas Picture Puzzlers Activity for Middle School. All of the included resources are meant to challenge students while incorporating the fun of the holiday into math class!

The logic puzzle is a traditional grid-style logic puzzle has students match 5 students' first and last names, favorite Christmas activities, favorite Christmas songs, and favorite Christmas dinners. Students are given 10 clues to help them solve the puzzle.

The picture puzzlers activity features 3 picture logic puzzles which each require students to use 3 picture equations to find the values of each of the pictures. The puzzles can be solved using systems of 3 equations (for older students) or guess and check and logic and deductive reasoning (for younger students). Once students solve the three puzzles, there are 8 order of operations problems (no exponents) for students to complete using the values they found in the puzzles. The 8 order of operations problems will lead them to the answer of a Christmas riddle.

The sudoku puzzles are traditional 9x9 sudoku puzzles (but instead of numbers, students arrange the letters in the word STOCKING and a stocking symbol). There are 3 differentiated levels of sudoku puzzles so that you can challenge each student in your class at the appropriate level!

These activities are great critical thinking and reasoning exercises for students and are a fantastic way to keep students engaged, while still working, in the das leading up to Christmas break!
