What educators are saying

These are great activities to reinforce Christ being the reason for Christmas! It has them look at Bible prophecies and the story of Jesus' birth! It also has them look at traditional Christmas songs to see how they line up the Bible!
A beautifully prepared resource which engaged and challenged my classes during the pre- holiday period

    Description

Here is a bundle of Christmas Bible Story Worksheets to help your students (and you) remain focused on the true reason for the season, and keep busy as Christmas Break approaches!

    This bundle currently includes:

How Was Jesus Birth Prophesied in Old Testament?

Though the Bible is split into parts, it’s a unified story of how much we are loved by the God of the Universe, despite our constant shortcomings. The Old Testament is constantly pointing toward the coming of a Messiah - this activity will help students to see that. They will read the scriptures listed from both the Old and New Testaments, and then fill in the right-hand column with the prophecy that was fulfilled in the birth of Jesus. A great activity leading up to Christmas, or just the study of scripture!

How much do your students remember about the birth of Jesus – according to Matthew & Luke?

This activity asks students to recall their prior knowledge by attempting to answer each question in the left-hand column, then open scripture and find the answers in Matthew 1:18:25 & Luke 2:1-7 to determine how well they remembered the biblical account of Jesus’ birth. Believe it or not, the bible doesn’t specify how Mary & Joseph traveled to Bethlehem… Maybe by donkey, maybe not :)

How many of the songs we sing during the Christmas season are based on the biblical narrative of Jesus’ birth?

In each of these activities, students are given the lyrics to a popular Christmas Song and asked to refer to Matthew 1:18-2:18 & Luke 2:1-21 to recall the biblical narrative of Jesus’ birth. As they compare the two, students are asked what is biblically correct and what is ”creative license”. Each activity ends with a reflection question asking the students to reflect on what that song helps them to focus on this Christmas season.

Jesus is given almost 200 different names or titles throughout scripture.

Each name (or title) helps us to better understand our incomprehensible God, as Jesus is the embodiment of the invisible God. This Names of Jesus Christmas Devotional includes 6 of the names or titles Jesus is given – particularly as it relates to his birth. Students are provided 1 or 2 scriptures from which the name/title is found and a short paragraph to set the stage. After this, they are asked to take a moment and answer a reflection question and write a short prayer with prompts based on the earlier readings.

Jesus Birth Bible Trivia Task Card Activity

This trivia activity, all about Jesus' birth in the Bible, are Task Cards that can be used in so many ways and, in this case, makes reading scripture fun and engaging! However they are used, students are spending time in scripture – which is always a win!

This resource includes 32 Task Cards, and a blank answer card for students to complete with an Answer Key Task Card. Digital - 2 Card Review Games using Google Slides.

Ways to use in the classroom:

    - Students can read scripture individually– for the first time or as a review.

    - Students can work together in groups and/or teams and test each other’s knowledge.

    - Task cards can be used as a pre-teaching activity or a review

    - Task cards can be used at stations around the room, or in a game of “Scoot” passing the cards down the line every 30 seconds.

    - Task cards can be used as a bell ringer at the beginning of class, or as exit tickets at the end.

Digital: Assign to students to complete, as a review or as an assessment
