Description

In “Packet One” of Everyday Life Skills Math Series, the student was introduced to the job experience and how their employer keeps record of their time worked. Once you start working and receive a paycheck, whether a paper check handed directly to you or directly deposited into a bank account, you will need to have a place to keep your money. You may need to open a bank account as either a savings or checking account. In this packet we will concentrate on a personal checking account and show you how to fill out a bank deposit slip, write a check correctly, keep a record of checks that you may have written or transactions made at an ATM machine, keep a balanced checking account to avoid overdraft charges, and reconcile or check to see if the bank’s balance matches the balance in your records.

Mathematical skills each student will learn to apply in this packet include basic operations such as addition, subtraction, and ability to work with decimals.

An answer guide will be provided. The Opening a checking account” packet will meet common core standards of life experiences.
