We work with students with executive function challenges and other learning disabilities everyday. When we help them to better understand their assignments, we often see the same challenges again and again.There are lots of skills and competencies they are assumed to have mastered and for many of our students they haven't yet. We created this checklist for educators to use to identify which of these skills and competencies their assignment is assuming students have.

How to use this resource:

Work through the checklist and check off all of the things the given assignment assumes students know how to do. Use the notes section at the bottom to identify ways that you can support students that aren't yet able to do those things. Making these small changes can set all students up for success!
