Description

It is important to assure that students understand the vocabulary used in a ceramics or pottery class. The “Ceramic Terms” PowerPoint covers common terminology used in a ceramics class including: clay, ceramics, elasticity, wedging, pinching, coiling, scoring, slip, slab, pottery wheel, leather-hard, greenware, bone-dry, kiln, firing, bisque, glaze, and stoneware. Presenting basic ceramics vocabulary as a lecture is a quick way to cover a lot of information in a short amount of time. This is perfect to use on the first day of a ceramics art class or at the start of a clay unity at the high school level. This zip file file includes the Ceramic Terms PowerPoint lecture, a pdf lesson plan, and a pdf of a ceramics terms worksheet for the students to complete.
