Students collect, analyze and investigate Demographic Census Data in a compounding assignment mad for online activities or project based presentations.. Students will find resources and information from online examples to demonstrate their understanding and analysis about topics and issues on political demography. Independent or group based activity made for online or in person completion of activity. Self guided instructions with links and resources included for students to use as necessary to complete research driven investigation. Data application and analysis using critical thinking requires application of most recent political demographic data using official government website links.
Analysis should apply data and information with applied incorporation through their essay’s discourse over current political debates, decisions, and utility of the number driven data. Data should explain analysis comparing the challenges and meaning in collection, sampling, gathering, displaying, and presentation of census produced demographic data or datasets.
Focus is on understanding American politics and government through the perspective of population and distinguishing between the importance in knowing the characteristics assigned to a number that represent the total value in a population from 1 person to 1 million. Individual and collective mindsets reveal new perspective for explaining personal level political assumptions and beliefs that shape how we view what our government is doing through the multiverse of lenses that can be used as differentiating classifications to sort populations.
