Celebrating Ireland and St. Patrick's Day

This is an ELA/Social Studies Thematic Unit about Ireland and St. Patrick’s Day: Their symbols and traditions. March is Irish-American Heritage Month and this packet is designed to teach students about Ireland, St. Patrick’s Day, and the national symbols of both through Reading, Writing, and Poetry. Students will engage in differentiated reading texts, write a country report about Ireland, write a persuasive letter, informative texts, and opinion pieces. CCSS and lesson instructions are included.
