Description

This lesson explores the history of Veterans Day and honors members of the US armed forces. The activities are engaging for students & the guided, 6-E format is easy for you to use! Begin with a fun “What is it? - Patriotic Symbols” warm-up. Test their knowledge of Veterans Day with a “Fact or Fiction?” activity, then explore the history of the November 11th holiday. Fill-in notes accompany the lesson. Next, challenge your students to investigate the song ”God Bless the USA”. “A Million Thanks – Letter to the Troops” is a way to extend the lesson and honor those who sacrifice for our nation. Finally, assess learning with an exit ticket quiz. Print & interactive, digital versions of the materials are included. Made for traditional in-class learning or digital 1:1 classrooms. Everything you need is included!
