Description

Are you looking for career exploration worksheets that use a career interest survey and personality test to guide your students on the path to their dream careers? Look no further!

These interactive Google Slides worksheets are perfect for helping your students choose a career to research in your class and potentially pursue in the future.

⭐️ These engaging worksheets guide students through a series of steps, including:

➡️ Following links to take a free career interest inventory (the John Holland RIASEC test) and a free Myers-Briggs personality test.

➡️ Exploring suggested careers based on their test results and using the Japanese concept of Ikigai, which focuses on life purpose, to narrow down their career choices.

➡️ Completing a chart with 11 things about their chosen career, covering aspects such as job duties, salary, job outlook, and more.

➡️ Reflecting on their newfound knowledge and insights.

⭐️ I highly suggest getting my How to Choose a Career Google Slides lesson and presenting it BEFORE assigning the worksheets. Although this is not necessary, this Google Slides presentation is a complete lesson and a great way to introduce this topic and stimulate class discussion before introducing the worksheets.

⭐️ Once students have completed the worksheets and chosen a career, help them learn more about their career with my Career Research Interview Project!

⭐️ OR you can get my Career Exploration - Lesson, Worksheets, and Research Project BUNDLE that includes 1) the interactive Google Slides presentation on how to choose a career, 2) these interactive worksheets, and 3) a career research project.

⭐️ WHAT'S INCLUDED with the worksheets:

  • This resource comes as a PDF document with instructions and suggestions for use and a link to a copy of the interactive Google Slides worksheets.
  • The presentation will open in Google Slides, but you could also download the presentation to PowerPoint without losing any of the formatting.
  • These worksheets are meant to be completed in Google Slides because there are hyperlinks included, but it's also possible to print these worksheets (already formatted in 8 1/2" x 11" size) for students who need a hard copy. Just download the worksheets as a PDF and then print. See next point.
  • These are interactive worksheets! i.e., Students are expected to answer questions and complete tasks by typing their responses directly on the slides (if you share a copy of the slides with your students). They do not need to add text boxes!
  • There is almost no prep needed except figuring out how you will differentiate if needed and deciding how to extend the lesson, but I have some ideas included to make it super easy for you!

⭐️ Feel free to use these worksheets with distance learning, face-to-face instruction, OR a hybrid approach in an English language arts, AVID, advisory, or related class. Counselors can also share these worksheets with students while working with whole classes, small groups, or individual students. The time it takes for the entire lesson will vary depending on how much discussion and other extension activities you include. Instructional time also depends on your students’ levels, but I'd give students at least a week to complete the worksheets.

NOTES:

*Remind students they can enlarge the Google Slides by going to "view," "zoom," and then either 100% or 200%! (You might have to remind them more than once!)

*There is limited space for students' answers about their career choice, so you will need to tell students to limit their answers to the most essential and relevant points and possibly not write in complete sentences.

*There are helpful Speaker Notes at the bottom of each slide.

*Students do not need to give their email or pay to take the career survey or personality test!

*Again, if you decide to print these, you'll need to download from the slides to a PDF and make copies of the PDF for students to complete by hand, BUT they won't be able to click on the links, so make sure to also send them an electronic copy so they can access the links. Black and white copies are NOT included.
