Description

Capitalization, Punctuation, and Spelling Task Cards {Capitalization Task Cards, Punctuation Task Cards, Spelling Task Cards}: This set of Capitalization, Punctuation, and Spelling Task Cards are aligned with the Common Core State Standards and focus on the objectives for capitalization, spelling, and punctuation for Grade 4. There are 20 total cards with an answer sheet and an answer key to allow students to check their answers.

Task cards can be used in centers, classroom stations, for individual practice, or as part of a game setting (i.e. scoot). For long term use, I would suggest laminating the cards and printing them out in color and on cardstock. The cards can also be printed in grayscale. If you do not prefer to laminate, the cards can be places in a small 4x6 photo album where the students can correct the errors directly on the cards using dry erase markers.

Here is a list of the Common Core State Standards which are included in this set:

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.4.2 Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing.
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.4.2a Use correct capitalization.
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.4.2b Use commas and quotation marks to mark direct speech and quotations from a text.
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.4.2c Use a comma before a coordinating conjunction in a compound sentence.
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.4.2d Spell grade-appropriate words correctly, consulting references as needed.
