- Summary outline of the Prologue to the tale that sorts out the Wife of Bath's main points and puts them in more school-appropriate language. This handout can save reading time so students stay engaged and/or it can fill in the gaps of excerpted textbook editions.
- Inference exercise: Students read 7 excerpts from the Prologue to the tale and identify which personality traits of the Wife of Bath they can infer from it. Then they explain in their own words how they made the inferences.
