What educators are saying

My students loved this resource. I use them for literacy stations. That are engaging and fun practice for the kids. They love the hands-on materials.
Such a great way for students to learn through play. They have so much fun using play dough to stamp the letters to make the CVC word. Thank you!

Description

These CVC mats are designed to be used with letter stamps and help your little ones spell and blend simple CVC words. There are pictures with each word card to help beginning readers.

I used the Shape & Learn Letters and Language Play-Doh set with these playdough mats. {I have heard from others that the Lakeshore letter stamps also work with these mats, but I have not tried them myself.}

There are two sets included to make differentiation easy:

Set 1: Is designed for very beginning readers that are still working on recognizing their letters and sounds. The letters are written in the circles and they will find the matching ones to build the word. This will allow them to accurately find the letters and work on blending them to make the word. The picture clues are also there to help. Set 1 comes with 16 word cards.

Set 2: This set has 100 word cards. 20 for each vowel. These cards do not have the letters written on them. They each have an adorable picture clue and three circles to put their stamped letters in. These are for your students who are ready to sound out and build their own CVC words. They would make a great word work center for hands-on learning.

These cards are designed in ink saving black and white. I recommend printing on bright paper and laminating before use.
