Description

Are you looking for an engaging, hands-on activity that helps your students build CVC words? This construction themed set comes with 2 levels so that you can easily differentiate for the diverse needs in your classroom.

This center includes:

  • 40 CVC Word Building Cards -These cards allow students to use letter manipulatives or dry erase markers to build the CVC words. There are 8 cards included for each short vowel sound, for a total of 40 cards.
  • 20 Fill in the Missing Letter Cards -These cards have two of the three letters already filled in, and your students will use the picture clues and the provided letters to find the missing beginning, medial, or ending sound.
  • Recording Sheet -This gives your students extra practice by writing down each word that they build on their word building mats. You can laminate this to use over and over, or you can print one for each student.
  • It comes in full color and ink saving black and white so that you can choose the printing preference that best meets your needs.

Fun Ideas with this center:

This set comes with printable letters on cones that you can use as letter manipulatives to build the words. But it is also fun to use different manipulatives to keep it exciting time and time again. Some ideas would be: Letter tiles, magnetic letters, letter cubes, etc. You can also laminate your mats and use dry erase markers with them. Another fun tip is to add your letters to a construction themed sensory bin for students to search for as they are building their words.
