CVC Phonic Spinner-Literacy Center Activity
- PDF
Description
This phonics spinner activity can be used as an independent literacy station once it has been introduced in a teacher-led station to go over the directions.
The CVC spinners can be used as a review to instruction or used as remediation for struggling readers in a small group lesson.
Included:
5 color spinner pages
5 black/white spinner pages
Student task sheet
Needed to complete the activity:
Brads
Paperclips
Wipe-off markers or pencils
You can use the spinners 2 ways:
1) Print and laminate a set of spinner pages on cardstock. I have included the black and white page for those wanting/needing to save on colored ink. I suggest printing the black and white copy onto colored cardstock (a different color for each page). Once they are laminated, insert a brad into the center of each circle and attach a paperclip for the spinner. Students can use wipe-off markers for a practice station. (The skinny markers work best)
Or...
2) Print the black and white versions, make copies and have students write directly on the paper for an accountability piece to turn in. Students can use their pencil with a paperclip as a spinner.
