CSI: Critter Scene Investigation An Owl Pellet Dissection Activity

This activity is used to create interest and engage students with owl pellet dissection. The students are presented with a memo from an investigator who has enlisted them (the forensic scientists) to help determine what the mystery evidence (owl pellet) is and how they can use it to pinpoint the criminal (the owl). There is also a reading passage requiring students to highlight text evidence that will be used in the case against the owl. Great opportunities to discuss food chains, predator/prey, herbivore, carnivore, and omnivore.
