CNN Heroes Project

New List for 2023 Heroes Updated!!!

Every year CNN explores the globe in search of real-life heroes doing extraordinary things to help people. Every fall they have a big TV special dedicated to sharing the heroes’ stories and choosing a “Hero of the Year”. This project lets students explore the top 10 heroes, learn about what each of them are doing to make a difference, and makes the students think about what THEY could do to make change in people’s lives.

This project includes the following:

* “What is a hero?” PowerPoint introduction (4 questions)

* Heroes question sheets

* CNN Heroes research and opinion question sheets from 2010-2023!

* “Causes You Believe In” sheets

What could your student do to make the CNN Heroes Top 10 list next year?! The sky’s the limit!

This project really lets the students express themselves and show everyone what they are made of. Their passion and sincerity really come out when writing and talking about their ideas.

This project is used in my Modern Issues class, but could be used and/or easily adapted for Geography, English, or other classes. It could also be used as a larger service learning project for students to work on during the year!
