CASL-2 Template | Speech Therapy Assessment
- Word Document File
Description
As a speech-language pathologist, I have to say: the CASL-2 is LONG! The hardest part is conveying all of the important information from the assessment in a way that makes sense to the people who have to read it, like parents, teachers, doctors, and other speech therapists! My CASL-2 template includes a summary of the CASL-2, handy-dandy tables for conveying information (including test and index descriptions!) and sections for summarizing both the tests and the indexes. I've also created separate templates for each age/grade band to make it even EASIER to use!
With my templates I try and solve two problems: a) writing and formatting the basics of a test can take up unnecessary time, leaving clinicians less time to write about what the results really mean; b) parents often struggle to understand the reports they've been handed, even when clinicians have spent hours writing the reports! Clinicians have told me that my templates save them time - so they can focus on coveying important information instead of formatting tables. Parents and advocates have shared with me that they find my reports easy to read while also capturing the strengths and weaknesses of a child. I hope my assessment templates do the same for you.

Update 05/24/2018: I've created age/grade band templates that have tables with only the tests/indexes that apply to that particular grade band. I've also listed the tests for each index within the summary.
