Description

This lesson on FINDING DISCOUNTS AT THE MALL includes a 12 slide Promethan and is part of the BUYING FOOD unit. It follows 5 individuals as they navigate the mall and challenges students to locate discounted prices for their purchases. Additionally, the lesson provides a brief tutorial on using calculators to calculate discounts. The math involved is basic and tailored for special education, but is still applicable to general education classes at the elementary or middle school level. In addition, the lesson is aligned with state standards and objectives and incorporates visually engaging diagrams and photos, as well as comprehensive information, to captivate students of all levels and maintain their engagement throughout the lesson. A pre-class question slide is also included to gauge students' prior understanding of the lesson. This lesson also comes with a worksheet pack to keep all students actively engaged, even while one student works with the teacher at the board.
