This is a bundle of 16 highly animated, power point presentations on Landmark Supreme Court Cases targeted to the High School Curriculum. All 16 presentations together number 278 slides. Each of the presentation slides are editable so you can change them to fit your individual needs.
Landmark Supreme Court Cases are those cases whose rulings have had far reaching impact on citizen rights in the United States. There are literally hundreds of such cases in the past and will continue to be added.
This bundle satisfies Florida Benchmark SS.912.C.3.10: Analyze the significance and outcomes of Landmark Supreme Court Cases.
Marbury v. Madison, 1803...establishes the principle of Judicial review.
Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824...established Federal Government's power to regulate Interstate Commerce.
Dred Scott v. Sanford, 1857...defined the right of citizen/slaves.
Plessy v. Ferguson, 1896...established "separate but equal" protection under the law.
Brown v. Board of Education, 1954...overturned Plessy v. Ferguson "separate but equal".
Mapp v. Ohio, 1961... defines due process, illegal search and seizure based on the 4th Amendment
Gideon v. Wainwright, 1963...establishes the right to have legal counsel.
Miranda v. Arizona, 1966...establishes “Due Process” for the rights of the accused.
In re Gault v. United States, 1967... establishes “Due Process” for juveniles.
Tinker v. Des Moines, 1969...defines "free speech" and 1st Amendment rights.
