**Conjunction Worksheets | Coordinating, subordinating, correlative Conjunctions**

Conjunctions worksheets are a great resource for students to practice combining sentences! They involve using coordinating conjunctions (such as FANBOYS), subordinating conjunctions, and correlative conjunctions to combine sentences or clauses.

There are different styles of practice available, where students are given examples of combining sentences and must choose the correct one, or are given sentences to practice combining and rewriting.

The main task requires students to practice using conjunctions to connect ideas in sentences and clauses. Whether it's using coordinating conjunctions to combine simple sentences, using subordinating conjunctions to create complex sentences, or using correlative conjunctions to show a relationship between two ideas, the main goal is to learn how to connect ideas in a clear and concise way.

    • 11 pages of coordinating conjunction exercises where students:
    • Fill in the line with the correct FANBOYS (underlining each independent clause/simple sentence one time and circling each subject)
    • Combine two sentences by using a comma and a conjunction
    • Complete sentences with the correct conjunction
    • Fill in the blanks using 'and', 'but', 'because', and 'so'
    • Underline the coordinating conjunctions in the paragraph

    • 13 pages of subordinating conjunction exercises where students:
    • Combine each pair of sentences using a conjunction from the word bank
    • Complete sentences with conjunction from the word bank
    • Complete each sentence with the proper subordinating conjunction
    • Cut and paste the correct subordinating conjunction to the right places
    • Use the subordinating conjunction indicated to join the given sentences
    • Underline the subordinate clause and circle the subordinating conjunction
    • Create a complex sentence that uses the sentence in parentheses as a subordinate clause
    • Highlight the dependent clause

    • 8 pages of correlative conjunction exercises where students:
    • Fill in the blanks using correlative conjunctions
    • Circle all the words that make up correlative conjunctions
    • Complete sentences using the correlatives from the word bank
    • Combine two sentences by using appropriate correlatives
    • Find the grammatical errors in the given sentence and correct them
    • Choose the correct answer
    • Join two sentences using the correct correlative conjunction

    • 8 mixed practice pages where students:
    • Use coordinating and correlative conjunctions to rewrite those pairs of sentences as one sentence
    • Determine whether a sentence is using coordinating, subordinating, or correlative conjunctions

Through these activities, your kids can improve their sentence structures, create more complex sentences, and express their ideas more effectively.

These worksheets can be used as morning work, homework, or independent practice.
