I use the following pages in a variety of ways:

1. Filled out together during the reading of a mentor text in the classroom.

2. Individually the students can use them during the reading of an independent book.

3. I have found them very valuable for book groups. They can use the sign post to help guide their book discussions.

4. Homework. If using book groups, it is really easy to make comparison among the Sign Post found between children using the same book.
