This bundle is a collection of holiday-themed emergency substitute packets and puzzles for Spanish teachers.
Are you a Spanish teacher in a hurry? Often, it can be very difficult to make substitute plans for a foreign language class. We want our students to be able to answer the questions without feeling the need to translate. These are packets ready for you to print and go when you are in need of an emergency sub plan.
Included in this bundle are SIX of my holiday-themed specific emergency Spanish sub plans and puzzle packs offered at a discount prince. Each emergency sub plan includes cultural readings in English and a key. They are perfect for any level of Spanish class.
The puzzles in the puzzles packs are different from the puzzles that are featured in the emergency substitute packets. Included in this bundle are:
1. La Navidad: Christmas in Spanish-speaking Countries Sub Plan
This packet includes information and activities about Christmas in Spanish-speaking countries from around the world that can be used anytime during November or December. It includes three articles written in English related to Christmas in Spain and Latin American countries, comprehension questions that follow follow each article, a Venn diagram to compare and contrast Christmas celebrations, and a crossword puzzle featuring some of the terms from the articles.
2. La Navidad: Christmas Puzzles Pack for Spanish Class
This puzzles set includes a word search puzzle with nearly 50 vocabulary words in Spanish related to Christmas in Spanish-speaking countries, food, celebrations, and Three King's Day. There is also an unscramble puzzle using the vocabulary words and a hidden message.
3. Three Kings' Day / El Día de los Reyes Magos: Reading & Substitute Plan
This is a short reading passage about Three Kings' Day in Spanish-speaking countries. It is great to keep handy in December and January as an emergency substitute plan. The reading is a page and a half, and there are eight questions and a crossword puzzle that follow with a key.
4. Las Posadas in Mexico: ReadingActivities & Emergency Substitute Plan
A reading passage about Las Posadas with questions that follow. After reading the articles and answering questions, there is also a crossword puzzle featuring terms from the reading passages.
5. El Año Nuevo: New Year's in Spanish-speaking Countries Reading & Substitute Plan
This packet includes three articles related to New Year's in Spain and Latin American countries. The articles are in English with comprehension questions and a key included. After reading the articles and answering questions, students fill out a Venn diagram to compare and contrast the way another country celebrates New Year's with the way we celebrate in the United States. Also included is a crossword puzzle featuring some of the terms from the articles.
6. El Año Nuevo: Spanish New Year's Puzzles Pack
This pack includes a crossword puzzle, wordsearch, and word unscramble puzzle with vocabulary related to New Year's Eve in Spanish-speaking countries and a key.
