Description

This fun and engaging Build a Superhero Dog CVC Words game works will all interactive whiteboards (SMART Board, Promethean, Mimio), iPads, Chromebooks and computers. A perfect game to use as a literacy center or for a whole class collaboration activity.

Students earn dress up items by reading CVC words and choosing the correct matching picture. A unique Superhero is created every time they play!

Note: An internet connection is required to play this game.

FANTASTIC FEATURE #1 – Quick and Easy to Setup and Differentiate

This game includes 144 CVC words. Choose the exact words that you would like your students to practice with the option to save game settings so that you can quickly jump into a game without any setup. You can also assign saved games to individual students or groups for differentiation. Students can play in class and at home.

FANTASTIC FEATURE #2 – Easily Adjust the Difficulty
Choose the number of possible answers that are shown with each question to control the difficulty. Two answers are easiest, four is hardest. You can also choose between two formats for the questions: show a word for the question and pictures for the answers or show a picture for the question and words for the answers.

FANTASTIC FEATURE #3 – Say the Word Option
Choose to show or hide sound buttons that read the words to students when pressed.

FANTASTIC FEATURE #4 – Self Correcting

Students will know right away if they have answered the question incorrectly and are given time to find the correct answer.

Game Format:

An internet connection is required. This game runs directly from the pinkcatgames.com website. The website was created so that you can easily play and manage your Pink Cat Games. The website also allows you to easily save game settings with the option to assign games to students and groups. The first time that you visit the website you will be asked to create an account to manage your games.

How to Play

Whole Class – Played on an Interactive Whiteboard

Have one student at a time come up to the interactive whiteboard to choose a dress up item to add to the character and answer a question. Each game board has 20 dress up items. After all the items have been added to the character, the class will have created a fun Superhero Dog. Each time you play, the resulting character will be different and the questions will randomize so the game is always unique and fun.

Small group or single player – Played on tablets or computer workstations (PC or Mac)

Start the game on a computer or tablet and allow the student(s) to play for a certain length of time. Tablets and computers can remain logged in to the student view so that students can easily pick their group or student picture and play a game.
