This is a 30 slide PowerPoint ESL adult conversation lesson in editable PPT format with activity, work paper, and teacher’s notes.
In Britain, the Christmas season officially starts when the first Christmas advert is played.
Christmas adverts are a staple in Britain, people all over the country wait for them to air because the productions go "all-out" with the expense and quality.
I think these ads are a great way to teach our ESL students about British Christmas traditions and culture as well as present-day social changes.
This lesson focuses on the change in marketing strategies around Christmas and how Christmas adverts reflect the current mood in pre-Brexit Britain.
I created this lesson for adult ESL business classes, but any ESL class of intermediate and advanced levels or high school business classes will enjoy this lesson.
