This educational resource pack includes audio and hands-on approaches:
Modified for students with blindness: tactile, Nemeth Code Numbers, imagery of muffin pans and tennis balls (to replicate the braille alphabet) and auditory prompts applied. A media player is necessary.
Students may require braille and tactile learning or the use of a computer with voice synthesizer. Visually impaired will also require enlarged print.
Images and descriptions from world famous paintings with:
(Level 1) A recording or the teacher can describe each painting and its artist. Then braille words are utilized by the teacher and the student to display titles of paintings.
(Level 2) Learn key words/phrases regarding the paintings
(Level 3) Construct a replica of a painting with any selection of medium; paint, clay,drawing, etc.
(Level 4) Use a range of strategies including text features to gain meaning, draw conclusions and make predictions.
