Description

This google slides presentation gives definitions of various book genres (biography, mystery, fantasy, realistic fiction, historical fiction, and science fiction) as well as gives students the opportunity to practice identifying the genres. After learning the definition and reviewing examples of the genres, students will watch youtube movie trailers for different books and then determine the genre of the story. The google slides presentation includes a guided notes worksheet for students to use during the lesson. This google slides presentation features books that are recognizable and of interest to students in grades 3-5.
