Blending BINGO Phonemic Awareness K-1 Easter Literacy Activity
Description
Are you looking for a way to help your learners gain phonemic awareness? This engaging Easter themed Blending BINGO game is designed for small group play led by an adult to reinforce blending sounds into words. A teacher or other adult will read the calling cards by segmenting the sounds, instead of reading the words. Children will look for the picture as they blend the sounds together to say the word. This activity makes a great end to your small group literacy time, during an intervention lesson, or with your after-school tutoring sessions.
The object is to get 3 in a row, which usually happens quickly, so I also play until all children have a BINGO, or until the cards are full.
I included only 9 pictures on the cards so that the children are not overwhelmed with too many pictures at a time, but there are a total of 15 words. You may need to remind children that they will not have every word every time. There are 6 cards in this set. Just print, laminate, and cut out, and you are ready to play. All you need is a set of chips or counters for each player. Have fun!
